This blog promotes dialogue on a moratorium on Hawai'i's ceded lands. Ceded lands are described as former Hawaiian monarchy crown lands now in the possession of the State of Hawai'i. On January 31, 2008, the Hawai'i Supreme Court ruled that the State of Hawai'i could not sell ceded lands until un-relinquished claims to those lands by Native Hawaiian were addressed. In the following April, the State of Hawai'i decided to file an appeal to the Supreme Court of The United States (SCOTUS).
